Hand Poured Candles

Discover our indulgent selection of artisan candles, hand-poured in Norfolk using vegan-friendly ingredients.

How our candles are made

Each and every one of our candles is hand-poured by us using a sustainably sourced rapeseed and coconut wax as well as quality fragrances sourced from the UK.

First, the wax is gently melted over several hours using a special boiler to achieve a specific temperature for the best finish.

While the wax is melting, we prepare our candle jars by labelling, adding the wick and ensuring the wick is centred to allow the candle to burn evenly.

We carefully measure out the wax and hand-blend it with our fragrance before slowly pouring it into the jar and allowing it to gently cool.

After the candle has set, we undergo strict quality checking. This includes trimming the wick to the correct length, ensuring the wax has a nice smooth finish and checking for cracks or breakages in the glass.

Finally, we finish it off with a dust protector to keep the top clean and add the candle to a made-to-measure box, personalised for each fragrance to evoke the scent inside.

How do you ensure your fragrances are safe to use?

Over years of testing fragrances and researching our suppliers, we've built up a beautiful selection of fragrances that we're really proud of.

When we're choosing fragrances to stock, our number one priority is ensuring that they're safe to use. Although essential oils are great for aromatherapy, we were concerned about their safety around pets, therefore we choose to use fragrances that are specifically designed to be used in candles and have been thoroughly tested by reputable suppliers based in the UK.

Each fragrance comes with a document which includes any hazards and nasty chemicals so we know to avoid using them in our range, and only choose fragrances that have a clean bill of health.

How do you decide which fragrances to use?

We're pretty picky when it comes to choosing scents and we'll never stock a fragrance that we personally wouldn't use in our home, as we just wouldn't be passionate about it.

Believe it or not but we've tried hundreds of different scents and our eco-friendly candles are made up of the few that really impressed us and we felt deserved a spot in our range.

We usually try to go for scents that are a little more complex and have a certain elegance to them. This includes standout scents like Fresh Pear & Freesia which has several layers of fragrance notes that build up to create a really sophisticated fragrance.

What's included in your range?

When we built our fragrance line, we really wanted to find something for every taste and season.

We've got a spring line up made up of floral scents like Fresh Bergamot, Sweet Pea & Jasmine and Clean Cotton and summer fragrances featuring stronger, fruity scents like Rhubarb & Blackberry and Sweet Fig & Wild Berries.

Our autumn and winter range includes cosy scents like our popular Warm Honey & Amber which is perfect for autumn and our best-selling Gingerbread House which is a favourite around Christmas time along with Cinnamon & Apple.

We also offer two different size options. Our large candles will burn for approximately 55 hours and come in our signature black gloss jar, which make indulgent treats for yourself and great gifts.

Our small votive candles will burn for roughly 20 hours and come in a mini amber glass jar. They make great little gifts or additions to hampers and larger gift sets.

Are your candles vegan-friendly?

Yes! We check with each of our suppliers that each ingredient used in our candles is vegan-friendly, from the labels on our jars to the ink used on our boxes, our fragrances, wax and everything in between.
